With Summer School as School, Stacion – Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina and partner institutions have created a unique collaborative international platform based in Prishtina, developing an interdisciplinary curriculum and engaging practitioners to share knowledge and expertise with international students and the public.

Originally inspired by the case of Kosovo, where the education system was structured in the mid-1970s, Summer School as School is designed to bring together and disseminate critical knowledge and address relevant contemporary challenges, implementing new models and possibilities in art education and artistic collaboration.

Presently, Summer School as School is the leading regional collaborative platform in art and discourse production, and a model that unites the capacity of the region of Southeastern Europe, engaged international faculty and partner institutions to produce and disseminate an interdisciplinary model of education and art collaboration.

After running in past years to much success, this year’s edition of Summer School builds its agenda upon the various perspectives and experiences that theoretically and practically reflect and challenge ongoing regional histories and their connections to broader artistic, political and societal developments. By inviting situations that transcend normal creative and intellectual limits, Stacion – Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina with Summer School as School seeks to intertwine knowledge and (re)position the region of Southeast Europe in relation to its international and global coordinates.
