Kosovo 2.0, in collaboration with its partners in the Reporting Diversity Network (RDN), is excited to announce the opening of a Call for Proposals aimed at countering hate speech and improving the representation of diversity in the Western Balkans. This initiative forms part of the broader efforts by RDN to positively influence the media’s portrayal of ethnicity, religion, and gender in the region.

The open call invites civil society organizations (CSOs) from the Western Balkans (Kosovo) to submit project proposals that will contribute to creating a more inclusive, tolerant, and diverse media landscape. The overarching goal is to combat polarizing narratives and replace them with positive, empowering discourse that fosters good neighboring relations and respect for social diversity.

Objectives of the Call

Strengthen the position of local CSOs in safeguarding their beneficiaries’ rights in the media.

Provide opportunities for local CSOs to influence public perceptions and respond to hateful and harmful narratives contributing to polarisation.

Increase the number and quality of messages conveyed to the audience to diminish the effect of polarising narratives.

Improve visibility and media representation of women and minority rights’ issues.

Contribute to the positive perceptions of “the other” and tolerance and inclusion in the region.

A minimum of five projects will be selected with individual grant amounts ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 EUR.

The application deadline is May 31, and proposals must be submitted in English.
